SVCC was formed in August 1988, by a small group of automobile enthusiasts dedicated to encouraging interest in and the preservation of the automobile hobby. During that first meeting, officers were elected, by-laws were adopted, and membership guidelines were accepted. Today, the SVCC continues to support all aspects of the automobile hobby.

The SVCC is an "open club", and membership is open to anyone who has an interest in the automobile hobby. Monthly meetings are held on the last Monday of each month (except December), at 7:00 pm at the Realtor's Association building, located at the corners of Second and Bartow Streets. Each month a guest speaker is invited to speak on an automobile related topic, a brief business meeting is held, and there is discussion on upcoming runs, car shows, and cruises that members will be participating in. Refreshments are served at the end of each meeting. A monthly newsletter is sent to each member as a reminder of the next meeting, and brings the membership up to date on all club activities.

The club hosts two major events each year. The Spring Car Show 'N Cruise takes place on the last Saturday of April. SVCC and The Diner co-sponsor the annual event. Our second event is Cars in the Park, which was originally organized in 1988. Cars in the Park is the premier car show in southeastern Arizona, with over 275 entrants in 26 classes. The event takes place on the second Saturday of October in the Sierra Vista Veterans Memorial Park.
